Sourdough Drop Biscuits

  • 1 cup starter
  • 1/3 cup cooking oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Mix starter and oil. Sift together dry ingredients and add to starter and oil. Mix well. Drop by tablespoons on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

Coffee-Cake Variation

Mix as above. Add 1 egg, 3/4 cups sugar, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon to the biscuit mixture. Pour into greased square (8 or 9 inch) baking dish. Sprinkle with a crumb mixture of 1 1/2 tsps. cinnamon, 2 Tblsp. butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1 Tblsp. flour. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
