Eleanor Porter's Israeli Honey Cookies

  • Cream:
    • 1/4 cup shortening
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 1/2 cup honey
  • Sift and add:
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 tsp. baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Add:
    • 1/2 cup quick-cook oats
    • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
    • 1/2 cup raisins
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Drop by tablespoonful on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.
