- Dissolve:
- 2 pkgs. yeast in
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- Stir in 1 cup bread flour.
- Cover this sponge and let rise in a warm place until it is light - about 1/2 hour.
- Beat until soft: 1 cup butter (or margarine)
- Add 1/2 cup sugar gradually
- Blend until light and creamy.
- Beat in 3 eggs - one at a time
- Add:
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
- 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
- Beat in the sponge
- Beat in gradually 4 to 4 1/2 cups bread flour. Dough will be slightly sticky.
- Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk - about 2 hours.
- Divide dough in two equal lumps. Roll to 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread each portion with approximately 1/2 of the following:
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- Chop 3/4 cup raisins and 3/4 cup pecans. Sprinkle 1/2 on each portion.
- Roll the dough like a jelly roll.
- Cut into approximately 1 inch slices.
- Melt butter in baking dishes.
- Place rolls in baking dishes,.
- Let rise in warm place for 1/2 hour.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
